So what is Pink Friday?

Pink Friday is a nationwide shop-small event held on the Friday before Black Friday. It's all about celebrating independent businesses and encouraging shoppers to support local before the big holiday shopping rush begins!

Instead of competing with big-box retailers during the busiest shopping weekend of the year, Pink Friday gives small businesses their own day to shine first.

Since launching in 2020, thousands of small retailers have embraced Pink Friday as a way to kick off the holiday shopping season early, welcome new customers and celebrate the importance of shopping local with their communities.

#SupportSmallFirst is more than a hashtag. It's a nationwide movement helping small businesses stand out before the biggest shopping weekend of the year.

What about Black Friday?

It almost feels expected for small businesses like ours to try to keep up with the big-box stores during this shopping event. But here's the thing… we're not a big-box store, and honestly, that's part of why you love shopping with us.

We simply can't afford to offer discounts of 30%, 50%, let alone 70% or 80% off. And we're certainly not going to inflate our prices just so we can turn around and put them "on sale."

Does that mean we don't have deals? Absolutely not!

We've got lots of great finds in our clearance section. But more than that, we've got a store full of incredibly awesome gifts for dancers. We've personally spent hours curating our collections, choosing quality products and making sure we have something at a variety of price points and budgets.

Are we against Black Friday? Not at all! It's just not an event that works the same way for a small business like ours, and that's okay.

What we hope is that you'll choose to shop with us this holiday season because of everything else that makes Gabie's special.
